Austin, TX (December 20, 2016) –
Hellas and Hellas employees are making Christmas extra special for four Austin families this year by adopting the four families from the Austin Police Department’s Blue Santa Program.
Hellas’ Patricia Roy organized the Hellas charity drive. “This is our first year to do this,” Roy said. “I put ornaments on the Christmas tree, with the names of all the family members and the gifts they had wished for,” she said. “All the ornaments were gone in two days,” Roy said. “Everyone participated wholeheartedly, not just giving what was wished for, but going above and beyond adding extra items too,” she said.
There were approximately 60 wishes for gifts that were granted. “These weren’t crazy wishes, they were wishes for clothes, coats, games, dolls and a few video games. There were two newborns that needed items too,” Roy said.
The gifts were delivered anonymously by Hellas employee elves to all four of the families on December 16th. In addition to the gifts, Hellas employees personally donated, Hellas Construction is donating $100 to each family and having Christmas dinner delivered to each family on Christmas Eve.
