Austin, TX (June 1, 2015) —
Hellas Construction broke ground in May on a new Matrix? Synthetic Turf softball and baseball field for Edcouch Elsa High School in Edcouch, TX. Both projects will be completed in August which will improve the facilities and enhance playability for their athletes.
The $1.35 million project will consist of installing Matrix? Turf with Realfill? infill on the entire surface of the softball field and leaving the clay mound and batting circle for the baseball field with the turf installed on the remainder of the field surface. Both fields will have the school logos inlaid in the outfield and text logos behind home plate.
“We chose Hellas because we knew that they had a quality product, and we wanted facilities that are second to none. Our students, coaches, and community are excited at the fact that we will be one of the few schools to have a field that will be playable during any season,” says Christian Navarro, Athletic Director for Edcouch Elsa ISD. “Our community deserves it because they have supported our programs unconditionally throughout the years, and now it’s time to get the facilities up to a standard they deserve,” said Navarro.
